Talented and romantic. We have a winner. GREAT cover.

Song of the day #65: Katy Perry- Teenage Dream (cover by Boyce Avenue)

I’m really not a big pop guy at all. It takes a lot for me to be impressed by pop music because most of the music is looked at from a marketing perspective and not about the sole idea of making good music. For example, so much of pop music today is recycled ideas from previous hit songs that came out the past 5 years. It makes you wonder how long can they last recycling the same beats and lyrics. And what the hell is up with all these auto tuned songs? Musicians cant sing anymore so we need to auto tune everything?

I’m posting this cover song because I think Alejandro Manzano does a great job of singing and arranging this cover. It builds up very well to the chorus and the way it changes throughout is well done. It’s not the same 3 chord over and over again, which is what pop music is, almost All the time. I even believe that he does a better job than Katy Perry! No auto tuned voices on this recording…

Song of the Day/Night #64: Beethoven- Moonlight Sonata (Piano Sonata No. 14 in C# minor)
